Pliny the Elder consumed and wrote about this ancient red wine from Veneto Italy

Italian Wine (Vino Italiano)
Raboso by Moletto. From, Piave, Veneto, Italy.  DOC (Italian red wine)
Raboso is an ancient, indigenous grape from the Veneto (Italy) region; the varietal dates back to the first century and is referenced by, writer of that time,  Pliny the Elder in Naturalis Historia. Although wine making has changed a great deal over the centuries and the popularity of this varietal has varied Raboso remains a very important native regional varietal.
Tasting notes: Dark red in color with aromas of ripe fruit, wild berries, spices, oak and smoke; flavors nicely carry from the nose; Raboso is a surprisingly refined and complex Italian red wine from Veneto with good tannins and a medium finish.
