I have a weakness. It's a store by the place where my oldest daughter works. You might have heard of it, Cost Plus World Market. Originally it was the place that sold my favorite candy bar, the Violet Crumble, but since the price has escalated to $3.99 a bar, I have mostly overcome that proclivity.

But that store knows my name. And when I drive by it, I hear it beckon me. It's a dangerous love affair. It is rare that I can walk in and leave without at least one small treasure. And the justification games my mind plays are dirty. It goes something like this, "Oh! Let's go see if World Market has any specialized food products on clearance today that will inspire a new masterpiece. Or how about that red tray you have been lusting over for about 7 months? Any day now it could go on sale and it's the last one!"

Recently, I went in and found something I have actually wanted a long time. A measuring conversion glass beaker. But it gets better...it is MADE IN ITALY! It's about 10 inches tall, about 4 inches in diameter across the top, and the measurements are actually molded into the glass, so they won't wash away over time. It's a beautiful aqua green color, kind of like the old coke glasses, being the result of iron impurities in the sand.

This baby has it all. A pouring spout. The hexagonal shape is easy for my hand to grip it. But mostly, it's like another

This is my new pride and joy. We used it in making our homemade chocolate hazelnut "better than nutella" spread and then in using that spread in our biscotti recipe. Oh, did I hear you ask for those recipes too? ;)  They will be posted soon.

No promises you will score this from World Market, but one can only hope.
