How to make a killer Tiramisu for Super Bowl Sunday! We have Mascarpone in stock!

Tiramisu, literally meaning "pick me up", is a yummy coffee flavored not overly sweet Italian dessert. It's creation has been debated between many Italian regions, but it has been said that it was created in Veneto region of Italy, a storied culinary area to be certain. Tiramisu is a layered dessert, containing coffee soaked lady fingers with a sweet Mascarpone cream. A secret ingredient to make this dessert even more mouth watering is substituting the alcohol or rum with Frangelico (traditional) or Amaretto. Frangelico is an Italian hazelnut liquor that you won't regret using! Stop by Wine Italiano to pick up some creamy, authentic imported Mascarpone cheese to make an outstanding homemade Tiramisu dish.

The recipe includes:

*6 egg yolks (Organic as the taste will be much better)
3 tablespoons of sugar
1 lb Mascarpone cheese (imported from Italia of course)
1 1/2 cups strong espresso, cooled (do not use American coffee or domestic Espresso beans, Italian imports only, as it will make a huge difference)
1 ounce Frangelico liquor or a dark rum from the Carribean
24 Savoiardi biscuits (ladyfingers)
1/2 cup bittersweet chocolate shavings, for topping

Instructions:

In a large bowl, beat egg yolks and sugar until thick. Add the Mascarpone cheese and 1 tablespoon of the espresso; then beat until smooth. In a small, flat Pyrex glass pan, add and mix the remaining espresso and Frangelico  then proceed to dip each ladyfinger (one by one) into the espresso, letting it soak for only a couple of seconds. As you work lay each soaked ladyfinger in the bottom of the pan lined up touching one another straight and organized, like little soldiers. Make sure the ladyfingers line entire bottom of a 13 x 9 pan. Cover them with approximately 1/2 the mascarpone mixture. Place another layer of the ladyfingers, along with the cream on top. Cover with plastic wrapping, and refrigerate for 2 hours. For serving, shave the chocolate shavings Use Extra dark 60% plus cocoa content or better, and make certain it is Italian chocolate for goodness sake. Enjoy!
